Joanne Mariner is a
FindLaw columnist and human rights attorney based in New York. In January 1999, she drafted Human Rights Watch’s submission to the House of Lords in the Pinochet case. She was part of a Human Rights Watch delegation that visited North Darfur in July and August 2004 to document abuses committed against civilians. She returned to Darfur in October 2004, where she documented rape and other abuses for Human Rights Watch.
