Ray McGovern

27-year career analyst with the CIA. He is co-founder of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, which includes alumni from CIA, INR, and other intelligence agencies. He now works for Tell the Word, the publishing arm of the ecumenical Church of the Saviour in Washington, DC, and is co-director of the Servant Leadership School, an inner-city outreach ministry in Washington, DC. He worked under George Bush Sr., both when he was director of central intelligence, as well as when he was Vice President. He was one of his daily briefers. Ray McGovern’s responsibilities during his 27-years as a CIA analyst included chairing National Intelligence Estimates. He wrote “A Compromised Central Intelligence Agency: What Can Be Done?” in Patriotism, Democracy, and Common Sense: Restoring America’s Promise at Home and Abroad published by the Milton Eisenhower Foundation in October 2004.
